Established in 1956, AALCO was the fruit of the Bandung Conference in Bandung Indonesia. The AALCO monitors the development of regional centres for arbitration, and respective directors of Centres are required to present progress reports at every annual AALCO session.
Established in 1978, the Centre which was formerly known as the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA) was the first arbitration centre in Asia to be established under the AALCO. Since inception, the Centre has evolved into a global hub for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

]]>Under the theme “Accelerating Africa’s Single Digital Market”, the Summit has attracted over 4,000 participants, including Heads of State and Government, First Ladies, UN Broadband Commissioners, Ministers, Public & Private Sector, International Organisations, Industry Leaders, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Young Innovators, Civil Society and Academia.
In addition to the Smart Africa Leaders Summit, the Smart Africa Women’s Summit and interactive plenaries, the summit featured subject specific streams tackling current ICT topics. Delegates were able to attend insightful & engaging streams including the Blockchain Hub, the Digital Health Hub, the 4th Industrial Revolution Hub as well as several customized sessions by partners.
This year’s summit also featured a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between World Startup Festival
and Smart Africa to develop 100 African digital entrepreneurs within 5 years. The partnership agreement includes training African startup entrepreneurs in WSFD’Academy Accelerator Bootcamps to prepare them for seed funding and international business collaboration in different parts of the world, the hosting of the annual World Startup Festival in Africa in 2019, and the creation of a WSF Smart Africa Press Club, inviting respected African media agencies to help elevate the news of African businesses into and beyond Africa, through partnerships with international media houses.
As WSF Ambassador to Africa, Mr Ismael Nabe who is also Co-founder & Vice President of MAPE anticipates the collaboration with WSF to generate enough opportunities through innovations, capacity building and funding to employ effectively the growing young demography in Africa that makes up 65 % of the population.

Who better than Mr. Ravichandran Tharulingam, the renowned Malaysian mountaineer who is among few humans who have climbed the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest as a solo climber and is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records for his feat in climbing the 8,843.43m mountain on May 15, 2006 to take up the ambassador role in promoting mountain climbing in Uganda to fellow asian mountaineers?
Started on 19 January 2018, Ravi spent eight days climbing the famous Mountains of the Moon, the Rwenzori Mountains and summited to the highest point, Margherita peak on Mt. Stanley, at 5109m. This is the first trip of many more to come with more fellow Asian climbers in future.
MAPE would like to extend its gratitude to all institutions that supoorted Ravi’s Rwenzori challenge among them Ethiopian Airlines, the Rwenzori Trekking Services, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Ministry of Foreign of Foreign Affairs, the Uganda High Commission in Malaysia, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Tourism Board.

]]>The objectives of TCTP Programme are to share Malaysia’s and Japan’s experience in trade promotion with participating countries, foster closer rapport with participants from the African countries as well as raising awareness on global and regional trade developments and issues. A total number of 10 (ten) participants who are government officials from countries; Botswana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Senegal and Zimbabwe were attending this 9-day programme.
