The Eent achieved its aim of creating awareness of business opportunities between Malaysia & Africa, promoting and enhancing bilateral trade partnerships and investments between Malaysia & Africa.
The agenda consisted of series of business seminars, concurrent sectoral workshops, business meetings and industrial visits.

Sharrina Abdullah (ambassador of Malaysia to Senegal & the Gambia), Madam Aureen Jean (Senior director, Matrade), Mr Serge Kouassi (Co-founder/Coordinator for West & Central Africa, MAPE), Malaysian investors and business owners from sectors such as renewable energy, power generation, organic waste management, water treatment, road construction, construction related services, consultancy in Islamic banking and finance, medical equipment procurement, IT and telecommunication, oil and gas, Halal foods, beverages, and dairy products visited the country to uncover investment opportunities and strategic areas of business partnerships with their Gambian counterparts.

Sharrina Abdullah (ambassador of Malaysia to Senegal & the Gambia), H.E. Adrienne Diop (ambassador of Senegal to Malaysia), Madam Aureen Jean (Senior director, Matrade) and Mr Daouda Thiam (vice president,Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Dakar).
During the ceremony, MoUs were signed and exchanged between MATRADE & ASEPEX, MAPE & UNCCIAS and MAPE & Organisations Patronales du Senegal.

]]>Another milestone in fostering closer business ties between Malaysia and the African continent.
Established on 17 September 2015, Malaysian African Professionals & Entrepreneurs (MAPE) was officially launched on 26 February 2016 by the Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed in the presence of all african embassies and diplomatic missions in Malaysia as well as association, business communities and members of the public.
MAPE aims to facilitate trade and investment ventures among Malaysian and African business community.
Three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were also signed at the event, marking a strategic collaboration between MAPE, Hi Tech Global Sdn Bhd, Powerus Sdn Bhd and Kindia Resources Sarl.
